The Scottish Play

So there are not one but two adaptations of William Shakespeare's Macbeth in the works for the silver screen.

The first one stars Michael Fassbender as Macbeth and Marion Cotillard as Lady Macbeth. The first set photos have been released, and as a fan of both actors, I look forward to seeing this movie.

But today, I was made aware of another adaptation called "Enemy of Man" starring Sean Bean as Macbeth and Charles Dance as Duncan (the casting of Lady Macbeth has yet to be announced). They have a pretty impressive trailer up already, but are unsure if the film will be completed and have started a kickstarter to finish it. So far they have raised $73,329 of their $250,000 goal. I'll be donating as it looks like it has the potential to be really great.

If both of these movies are good, I'll likely buy them on Blu-ray when they are released, which means I will have three versions of "Macbeth" on my shelf. Well, four if you count "Gargoyles Season Two, Volume One".
